Miami AI Meetups: The 9 Communities Worth Your Night (2026 Guide)
Who each Miami AI group is for, what the night actually looks like, what's free, and how to RSVP on Luma without feeling lost in the room.
- Brand new? Start with a Claude Community workshop or Mindstone's monthly meetup. Both are free and neither expects you to code.
- Developers: hello_miami hack nights and AI Tinkerers Miami are where people actually ship. Both screen for builders.
- Most community events are free. The paid tickets are summits, like the Miami AI Summit at $250 to $600.
- Every group posts on Luma. Follow the calendar, RSVP, and check your email for the address.
Miami's most active AI communities on Luma include hello_miami, Mana Tech, DeepStation, Miami AI Hub, Claude Community Miami, AI Tinkerers Miami and Mindstone. Most community events are free. Total beginners should start with a Claude Community workshop or Mindstone's monthly meetup; developers should try hello_miami hack nights or AI Tinkerers.
Miami’s AI scene is real, it’s outside, and most of it is free. The hard part isn’t finding an event. It’s picking the right room, so you don’t show up to a 1 a.m. hack night when you wanted a beginner workshop.
I live here and I’m at these things most weeks. I also brought receipts: Run the Eval tracks Miami-area AI and tech events on Luma, the app almost every group here uses to post events and take RSVPs. A handful of calendars do most of the hosting.
Volume tells you who’s consistent. It doesn’t tell you which room fits you. That’s what the rest of this is for.
Which Miami AI community should I go to first?
If you’re brand new, start with a workshop, not a hack night. Here’s the whole map, then the details.

Claude Community Miami: the easiest first night
This calendar runs Miami events built around Anthropic’s Claude, and it has the best on-ramp I’ve seen this fall: Find your Next Role with AI, Saturday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The DOCK in Wynwood. Free. You build a Claude project from your own resume, then use it to tailor applications and practice interviews.
The page says no technical background needed. Bring a laptop, a charger, your resume, and one or two job posts you actually want.
Students get a session with UM’s uStart in Coral Gables on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Builders get a Claude Code Hacknight on Oct. 27 and an Opus 5.5 Build Day on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Still picking a chatbot? Read Claude vs ChatGPT first.
Mindstone Miami: talks, pizza, zero pressure
Mindstone’s Miami meetup happens once a month. October’s is Thursday the 29th at 6 p.m. in Miami Tower downtown.
Three short talks (one technical, one practical demo, one big-picture), then pizza, drinks, and networking. Free.
This is the room for “I use ChatGPT at work and want to get better.” Nobody’s quizzing you.
DeepStation: demo nights and weekend hackathons
Full disclosure: I’m involved with DeepStation, so weigh my take here with that in mind.
DeepStation is an AI education community fiscally sponsored by The Miami Foundation, and its Luma page bills it as an OpenAI Academy launch partner.
The signature format is the free demo night. Next up: AI Demo Night, Thursday, Oct. 22 at The LAB Miami, with live red-teaming of a small model and a Codex walkthrough. Then a free weekend hackathon at The LAB, Nov. 7 to 8.
Registration is open, no approval step. The talks lean technical, so beginners should sit up front and ask questions. The one paid item on the calendar is a $750 forward-deployed engineer course.
hello_miami: where Miami’s builders actually build
hello_miami is the most active calendar in our data: 121 events captured since April 2024. The format is the hack night.
Doors at 6:30 p.m., lights out at 1 a.m., lo-fi music, good Wi-Fi, people shipping side projects. Around 8:30 there’s a 5 to 10 minute lightning demo, then non-builders are asked to head out.
Per Refresh Miami, it runs Tuesdays at The DOCK in Wynwood and Thursdays at Moonlighter FabLab in South Beach. You request to join, and the hosts say they pick people serious about building, mostly hardware and software engineers. Come with a project, not a pitch.
AI Tinkerers Miami: show-and-tell for people who ship
The local chapter of a global builder network. Demos run about five minutes and must be live, working code. No slides, no pitches.
Its February 2026 kickoff capped attendance at 50, and you apply with a LinkedIn, X, or GitHub link. The latest one was Oct. 15 at The DOCK.
Can’t code yet? Save this one. If you can, it’s the densest hour of real alpha in the city.
Miami AI Hub: the big-stage option
Miami AI Hub launched in 2023 and was acquired by eMerge Americas in 2025. Its “Generative Gatherings” pair a keynote with startup showcases and a networking reception. This month’s headliner is the Miami AI Summit, Friday, Oct. 23 at Loews Coral Gables: $250 standard, $600 VIP, plus fees, approval required.
This is the decision-maker and investor room. Great if your company is buying AI. Overkill for night one.
Mana Tech: the founders’ living room downtown
Mana Tech runs out of Loft 10 at 21 SE 1st Ave and logged 78 events in our sample, second only to hello_miami. It isn’t AI-only: coworking days, founder talks, pitch workshops, and an AI, fintech and software founder speed-dating night ($12). Its coworking days are the rare daytime option.
Founders chasing investors should also follow Startup Grind’s South Florida calendar for pitch nights.
Purple Horizons and ÁgoraÑ: outside the Wynwood bubble
Not everything happens in Wynwood. Purple Horizons runs South Miami Tech Tuesdays on the first Tuesday of the month, usually at Bougainvillea’s Old Florida Tavern, with demos, AI panels, and founder talk. Refresh Miami puts it at 2,500+ members.
ÁgoraÑ is an AI community run entirely in Spanish, meeting monthly at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, with nearly 500 active members. For a lot of Miami, that’s the right first room. Period.
Is it just networking and pitching?
Depends on the room. Workshops (Claude Community) and talk nights (Mindstone) are for learning. Hack nights (hello_miami) are for building.
Demo nights (DeepStation, AI Tinkerers) are for watching real work. Summits and founder nights (Miami AI Hub, Mana Tech) are where the pitching lives.
Pick by what you want to leave with.
Do I need to code?
No, for at least three of these. The Claude job workshop, Mindstone, and Purple Horizons are built for curious people. hello_miami and AI Tinkerers expect you to build.
If the room keeps saying “agents” and you’re lost, read what an AI agent actually is before you go. Ten minutes, and you’ll follow every conversation.
How do I RSVP on Luma without feeling lost?
- Open the group’s Luma calendar and hit Follow so new events land in your inbox.
- Click an event, then Register, or Request to Join if a host approves guests. Answer the questions honestly.
- Many listings hide the exact address until you’re approved. Check your email the day before.
- Can’t make it? Cancel on Luma so somebody else gets your spot.
In the room, get there in the first 30 minutes while people are still mingling. Lead with what you’re curious about, not your job title. Ask one person what they’re building.
That’s the whole playbook. Want something to talk about? Spend an hour with a few free AI tools first.
Are there daytime or weekend options?
Yes. Saturdays: the Claude job workshop (Oct. 24), DeepStation’s hackathon weekend (Nov. 7 to 8), and the Opus 5.5 Build Day (Nov. 14). Weekday daytime: Mana Tech’s coworking days and the Miami AI Summit. Everything else is evenings, mostly starting around 6.
For everything not on this list, Refresh Miami’s events calendar is free to browse. Hack Week’s calendar shows up in our data too, but I couldn’t confirm a 2026 date for the big week, so it’s not on this list.
My move if you’re new: one workshop this month, one demo night next month, then pick your lane. Builder, founder, or buyer. Miami’s door is open… pull up.
#TheAIMogul
Bottom lineMiami's AI scene is open, active, and mostly free. Beginners should take one workshop this month and one demo night next month, then pick a lane: builder, founder, or buyer.
